Renee L. Groleau, a third-generation artist, was born in Springfield,
MA, in 1974 and calls Chicopee, MA her home.
Gifted with a natural ability to render subjects with amazingly detailed
levels of realism, she is largely a self-taught artist, crediting her mother and
grandmother for her natural artistic talent.
Drawing and painting since childhood, in various mediums, she’s
been a professional artist for 20 years, first having specialized and receiving commissions in the medium of pen & ink.
Her current specialty of animal portraiture was born out of
falling in love with the Papillon dog breed in 1999.
Soon thereafter, she acquired her first one and immersed herself
in the Papillon and dog world, where inevitably, her talent and passion for Papillons, dogs and other animals, collided and became one.
Renee’s works can be found in many private collections both national
and internationally, including those of celebrities and AKC judges.
She is currently represented by two art galleries in Western Massachusetts.
